Sen. Chad Barefoot

Co-Chair, Senate Appropriations on Education/ Higher Education, NC General Assembly

Chad Barefoot is currently serving his third term in the North Carolina Senate. The youngest member of the Senate, he represents the 18th Senate District, which includes Wake and Franklin counties.

In the Senate, Barefoot serves as a Chief Budget Writer, chairing the Senate Committee on Education Appropriations. He also serves as Chairman of the Senate Education/Higher Education Committee.

Outside of the legislature, Barefoot serves as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Louisburg College.

Barefoot holds a master’s degree in Christian Ethics from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, and a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Public Management from Appalachian State University.
